Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) such as chloroform, toluene and trichloroethylene can cause health hazards and affect indoor air quality. Therefore, cost effective and reusable
sensors for the detection of these volatile gases are required. In this study, the potential use of diacetylene monomers as colorimetric sensors combined with electrospinning is investigated in
order to develop sensor membranes from biodegradable Polylactic Acid (PLA).
